Emerging in 2007, as the premier airbrush tanning service in the United States, Sonoma Tanning, made a splash in the world of spray tanning and the waves traveled the world. Originally a niche mobile tanning service, working with brides in the wine country, Sonoma Tanning opened it's services up to regular clients. As a commanding clientele clamored for the services, once only available to brides, "The Studio" opened, and became the first "Airbrush Only" Tanning Salon in the United States.
In 2008 Sonoma Tannnig opened up their services further, contracting with some of the most exclusive salons and spas in the wine country to provide services at their locations. Now in 2011, Sonoma Tanning finds itself the "Official Spray Tanning Provider" for the San Francisco 49er Gold Rush Cheerleaders, the International Natural Bodybuilding Association, and both the Miss California & Miss Oregon Pageants - Official State Finals to Miss California.
Kelly Richardson, the owner and creator of Sonoma Tanning, is a highly regarded professional in the beauty industry, being listed as one of the top tanning professionals on BeautyBlitz.com, and offering tips on how to get the perfect tan at RealBeauty.com . In addition, Kelly writes a daily column on Day Spas in San Francisco for Examiner.com and keeps a blog, Spray Tan Kelly. She is a regular contributor to Dermascope and Les Nouvelles Esthetic and Spa Magazines.
In 2010, Kelly developed a product line that is now used exclusively at Sonoma Tanning, called B.Bronz. B.Bronz has been featured on style.com and in Allure Magazine. Her favorite tanning memories include..traveling overseas to tan the Gold Rush Cheerleaders for the NFL London Game and joining Miss California at the Miss America pageant.
Business Week Magazine featured Kelly and both Sonoma Tanning and B.Bronz in August of 2011. After a fun start to the year with tanning gigs at New York City's Famed "Fashion Week" and coaching one of her "spray tanning students" to beating the world record, Kelly sat down with reknowned writer, Eric Spitznagel to dish about the tanning industry. In March of 2011, Sonoma Tanning opened a second studio in Willow Glen, in the heart of San Jose.
